We hope that you never have to use these tips, but in the event of an accident with a car these tips will help you ensure everything is recorded to protect yourself.
These tips are designed as a guide and only if you are not being carried away in an ambulance!
- If there are witnesses to the accident, make sure you get their details. I have known too many people where the motorist involved admitted it was their fault, only to deny any responsibility afterwards when it came time to pay up for the damages.
- Get all of the driver’s details: their name, address, car registration, make of car and color. Plus, their insurance details if they are covered.
- Street details of where the accident took place.
- Time of day and the date.
- If the driver is an angry, abusive person it may be necessary to contact the local authorities to help resolve the issue.
We sincerely hope you never find yourself in this situation, but hopefully these simple tips can help you if you find yourself the wrong side of the tarmac
