The company started life in 1985 as Double J (Midlands) Ltd., which was set up to specialise in the supply of parts to the wheelchair and bicycle industries, by its present Managing Director, Philip Taylor and his brother, whose background had been in bicycle manufacturing. Expansion of the business necessitated the move to new premises in1990, comprising of offices and 18,ooo sq. ft. industrial unit on a 2.5 acre site. The company was renamed "Bohle UK Limited" in 1995 when RaIf Bohle GmbH purchased it.
In May 2008, Bohle UK Ltd moved into a purpose-built, ultra-modern facility in Telford. Its storage capacity is one third larger than its previous warehouse and it has sufficient land on site to be expanded by another 50 percent as required. It can currently store up to 500,000 tires and 1.4 million tubes.
SCHWALBE brand bicycle tyres can be found from the USA to Australia and Japan to South Africa. And in Europe we are the market leaders! We believe there are two reasons for this success.
