Alchemy Goods Bike Parts & Accessories
Alchemy Goods is a U.S.-based manufacturer of messenger bags, backpacks, briefcases, and accoutrements. Gear is available from retailers throughout the U.S., Europe, and Australia, and directly from the company via their online shop.
Eli Reich invented his first messenger bag after his was stolen in the summer of 2003. Cobbling it together from readily available materials, primarily used inner tubes, the first Alchemy bag was made. Its popularity among local cyclists led to additional bags being made, and within a year the company was up and running. Since then the company has extensively expanded its offerings and modestly expanded its employee roster, today still using a neighborhood shop to do the sewing and assembly.
The messenger bags are the main line of Alchemy. From the little Pine to the big Jefferson, several sizes and styles are offered, all made from majority recycled, or, as Alchemy calls them, 'upcycled' materials. Construction is sturdy, appearance is novel, carrying capacity is excellent. Other bags include backpacks, shoulder bags, and a laptop sleeve.
Other products are also made from recycled materials; the current catalogue includes belts, wallets, a toiletries case, purses, pouches, and a shoulder strap.
Alchemy makes good packs in many styles, which actually benefit from using recycled materials. Check them out at your local shop and see what you think of Alchemy.
